A set of eight resin 3D printed, scale model of a round wrapped, silage bale. Add them to a farm or countryside scene on a model railway layout to help indicate the season.
Silage bales appear in fields throughout the summer when farmers harvest grass for feed. After drying for a short period, the grass is compressed into bales and then wrapped in plastic film, allowing the grass to ferment. Farmers also stack wrapped silage bales near the farm for feeding animals later in the year.
Each wrapped silage bale represents a typical UK bale of 4ft width x 4ft diameter.
The model includes small indentations at the ends, and bulges slightly in the middle. These features replicate the effect the tight plastic wrap.
