Lancashire boiler scale model

Lancashire boiler scale model

A coal-fired Lancashire Boiler scale model. An interesting addition for any industrial model railway layout or diorama.

Boilers like this had a variety of industrial applications. They were particularly common in cotton mills. Their usage dates from the mid-19th century to the latter half of the 20th century. At the time, these factories would often install pairs or multiple sets of boilers to meet their steam generation requirements.

We offer a Lancashire boiler that is partly encased in brickwork to place the model straight into a building. However, the front face is also available on it own so you to add it to an existing brick wall.

The full model has a water connection on the front and a steam pipe on the top. You could add pipes or valve separately to enhance the model further.

The front face of the boiler has firebox doors and gauges.

The full model and barrel-only model come as kits. The front face and dead weight safety valve need attaching to the main body of the boiler. For the barrel-only model, the two halves of the boiler barrel need gluing together. No parts need attaching if you purchase only the front face. Assembly instructions for the barrel-only model can be found here, and for the encased model here.

O, OO, TT, and N gauge models are available, but only the front face is available in O gauge. Interested in a different scale? Why not send us a message.

Please note that our models are supplied unpainted, and the colour of the model may differ from the photographed examples.

Information for painting, gluing and working with our models can be found here.
